Summer Vacation
Summer Vacation begins on Friday, June 8th and ends on Tuesday, August 7th. Students will return for the 2012-13 school year on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 8:15am.
Please note that our first day back will be a REGULAR school day, and BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT will be held on Wednesday, August 15th (for grades 1st thru 5th only). For those students entering Transitions or Kindergarten, an orientation meeting will be held on Monday, August 6th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm -- starting in the multi-purpose room.

Teacher Request Process
After much consideration, it has been determined that McKinley Elementary will maintain its “Teacher Request Process” for 2012-13.
However, the process for 2012-13 will look a little different than in previous years. Starting Monday, May 7th, parents will need to stop by the Office and complete an official request form. Parents will need to include a “reason” and be specific as to why the teacher requested would be a good fit for their child/children. The window for requesting teachers will close on Friday, May 11th.
NOTE: Please be aware that by simply filling out the request form does not guarantee enrollment in the class desired.
Transitional Kinder/Kinder Registration
Attention Parents:
McKinley's Transitions Program / Kindergarten Registration was scheduled for April 26, 2012 at the District's Enrollment Center. If you still need to register your child for the program, we encourage you to stop by the school for a registration packet.
