McKinley Elementary is proud to be the home of our district's first Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program!

Beginning in August 2026, McKinley will welcome two Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Spanish Dual Language Immersion classes and two Kindergarten Spanish Dual Language Immersion classes, in addition to our English-language classrooms.

Students enrolled in the program will learn in a 90% Spanish and 10% English instructional model during their TK and Kindergarten years, building a strong foundation in both languages while developing academic excellence and cultural appreciation.

The program will continue to grow each year. During the 2027–2028 school year, we will add two first-grade Spanish Dual Language Immersion classes, allowing our inaugural students to continue their bilingual education with a goal of receiving instruction in approximately 50% Spanish and 50% English by fifth grade.

We are excited to offer this exceptional opportunity and look forward to EMPOWERing our students to become confident, bilingual, biliterate, and globally-minded learners.
